WEN volunteers have the opportunity to connect directly with women and make an immediate impact on their lives. Opportunities include:
Guest Presentations/Workshop Facilitation
Share an area of expertise relevant to women in the workplace. A few topics of interest include: Time Management, Business Etiquette, Networking, and Behavioral Interviewing.
Résumé Writing
Work with women one-on-one or remotely to help create or strengthen their résumés.
Mock Interviews
Conduct mock interviews with women to help build their confidence, offering positive feedback and suggestions for improvement.
Job Search Assistance
Assist clients with their job search in our computer lab.
Job Search Mentoring
Provide support to a program trainee during her job search by assisting with the development of job search strategies and communicating regularly with her to motivate and support her efforts.
Job Lead Research Assistance
Research job leads in targeted areas and update resource materials utilized by graduates and trainees in their job search.
Phone Support
Make phone calls on behalf of WEN to track graduate retention, respond to information requests from the community, or thank WEN donors.
Administrative Support
Provide support to WEN staff members by performing various administrative duties such as data entry, acting as part time receptionist, preparing mass mailings, etc.
Clothing Bank Assistant
Assist with maintaining the on-site professional clothing bank.
Committee Membership
Work alongside WEN board members on such committees as: Fund Development, Finance, Marketing, and Event Planning.
Annual Luncheon
Join in planning one of the metro area’s largest events celebrating women and families. Drawing more than 1,200 business and community supporters, this inspiring event features women sharing their stories of how WEN has been instrumental in helping them achieve economic stability and positive life changes.
Reach for the Stars Ambassador
Become involved in a grass roots fundraising campaign by developing a "Giving Circle" to support WEN. The "Giving Circle" can be among friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, Facebook friends, etc.
Episodic Volunteer
Respond to various requests for one-time volunteer needs. Provide assistance at fundraising or community awareness events.
Speak to various community groups about WEN or oversee an informational booth at community events.
Connect with WEN
Businesses host WEN women in training for customized company tours to help them expand their understanding of success in the workplace. Connect with WEN visits often include special presentations, receptions, and mock interviews.
Training Sponsors
Businesses, organizations, or community groups can “adopt” a group of women in a five-week training session. Training sponsors contribute orientation and graduation gifts for each woman such as padfolios, planners, motivational items, flowers, etc.

Volunteering at WEN is flexible. Volunteer as often as once a week, once a month, or as your
schedule allows.
