Together with their WEN Career Coach, women select from additional training modules and workshops necessary to ensure their success:

Workplace Development
Personal Management
Computer Training
Customer Service
Life Transitions

Workplace Development
Women learn the vital skills necessary for employment success, including time management, conflict management, business etiquette, problem-solving, teamwork, and cultural diversity.

Personal Management
Faced with juggling demands of work and family life, women need the skills and support resources to strike a successful balance. This training module includes workshops on stress management, self-esteem building, money management, and women’s health.

Computer Training
To thrive in today’s workplace, women need a basic foundation of computer skills. WEN offers multi-level computer training in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.

Customer Service
Excellent customer relation skills are always in demand. This module prepares women to effectively deal with customers and the public, with a focus on listening, speaking, and interpersonal communication skills.

Life Transitions
In this popular workshop, women who are facing changes and challenges share their situations in a supportive and nurturing setting. Together, they explore ways to benefit from change and use this opportunity to develop strategies for coping positively with both professional and personal change.

PROGRAM RESOURCES

WEN’s Dimensions program also provides a spectrum of resources and support services including:

Employment Resource Center
Women have access to computers, the Internet, printers, telephones, and fax machines to assist them in searching and applying for jobs.

Professional Clothing Bank
Donated professional business attire provides women with appropriate, quality clothing for interviews and the workplace.

Case Management
Licensed case managers work closely with women to address any personal barriers to their ability to sustain employment including issues with housing, transportation, health care, childcare, domestic abuse and legal issues, among others.

Workplace Intervention
As needed, WEN provides workplace intervention services to WEN graduates on the job as well as to the employers who hire them to address any issues or challenges that may arise.

Ongoing Support
WEN’s doors remain open to WEN graduates throughout their lives for additional training, resources, and support services.

 

Participation Requirements
Women must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED to participate in WEN training programs.

Registration Hours
Registration takes approximately 1 hour. Please bring a picture ID and your Social Security card.
